There were a few weeks this year where I almost stopped painting completely. Every new canvas came with the same voice, this isn't good enough, nobody's gonna care, maybe you should just quit while you're behind.
The world around it didn't change first. It was still just a blank canvas, still just doubt, still just the same grey week as the one before. What changed was what I chose to focus on inside all of that.
I painted through it anyway.
This piece is what came out the other side. Green and blue that pushed past everything underneath it, proof that the outside doesn't have to shift first for something to actually change. The version of me that almost put the brush down is still in there, just covered now. Not erased. Covered by what I chose to focus on instead.
Original 60 cm x 40 cm. Signed on the back. One of a kind, once it's gone, this exact piece doesn't come back.
